This is simplified, but I tried to take the life of a 7 year old and imagine what blockchain might look like in that environment where paper, pencil and candy are on hand. The bit about when/how you get the candy is a little distorted, but I think the main ideas are all there.

an ELI5 of blockchain is pretty simple (like this is a massive simplification) it is that someone set up a specific set of rules, and someone somehow generates transactions, then said transactions are verified in groups called blocks. On ethereum we do computing with blocks.
