Which was that? For years I've held in offline wallets for that very reason, but platforms now rolling out amazing interest rates make me want to spread some across. Thoughts on a platform you like/trust?
That exchange was MtGOX, which was the largest exchange in 2014. I think the lesson learned here is you can't truly trust any centralized platform.

Now if you're talking strictly about token appreciation for smart contract platforms in 2021, Nervos is the sleeper project that no one has heard of and is doing similar interoperability but with some of the best tokenomics in the industry.

My guess is Ethereum, Polkadot, Cardano, in that order. The reason being that Ethereum's network effects are too great to be dethroned in one year. Cardano has no mainnet smart contracts yet, which means Polkadot gets into second by default.
