governance by whom though? that is the issue. American civil liberties are the gold standard that clear headed, freedom loving, desiring people WW WANT, seek. I'm sorry, but I will never lower my rights top accommdate lesser freedom loving countries/cultures. USA out of UN.

Content is the responsibility of the person creating it. A developer can filter, even censor but it is the creator who is responsible for the content. No one can block anyone from posting via the smart contract. People can be blocked from posting via a front end.

I somewhat agree, btw, I meant content creator/poster, not developer as u understand the term. Aside, prev admin wanted to allow UN to regulate the internet--& certain congress critters still do-- how does that figure into censorship concerns iyo?

That's the beauty of it. It's 100% open. You can vet it yourself, tweak it yourself, rebuild it yourself. I am generally distrusting of "black boxes" - this tech is going to make transparency relatively EASY... we just need a little more infrastructure for user friendliness.

then if that is the case I can agree, however, and not to belabor the issue and I gotta go, but i responded to what i saw as folk wanting to censor other content, that's all. g'day and cheers for your patience with my learning curve on this medium.

People can tailor their speech for their environment. If you shout in a library you are asked to be quiet.

or thrown out, as would happen if we allow a technocrat to have the authority to do that. My point is, content is the responsibility of the developer, the free, open market will decide whether to consume or not. see the difference. No censorship or control, just free decisions

again with the "steering" thingy. I wholeheartedly disagree because I know no one can be trusted to do it agendalessly. You may not agree, fine. This is why we have the 1stA and why the various soc mediums are WRONG to shadow ban and close sites that someone doesn't like

I never disputed that, my issue is, has always been, that censoring speech is NOT what we ought to be shooting for, rather, freer speech and more of it is what is needed, and people choose for themselves what to partake of. agreed?
