I believe it is currently succeeding in behind-the-scenes enterprise deployments by being integrated into existing systems to provide better auditability. Continued rollouts of this type will probably be the leading use for some time.
It looks like a lot of big enterprises have teams and plans, because FOMO. What I haven't seen are links to real, working tech yet.The DLT diaspora is a big issue in my mind. All the incompatible approaches would benefit from...consensus. ;^)
In your own work and lives, where do you think DLT, ETH, et al, will succeed first? What are your uses? In-game value (*Kitties)? Peepeth-like services and products? "Real money" in Enterprise/FinTech?
Do your Normal friends get it? At all? What would make it useful to them?
We're excited to hear what Peepers think of our RED Wallet app, and approach. You are the leapers, the future seekers. Do you value small, fast apps that just do what's needed, efficiently? Or is it more important to you that things are shiny and trendy in their look and feel?
A lot of work behind the scenes these past few months. Laying project foundations, building a team, planning, new tricks for a couple old dogs. The RED wallet is one small Dapp for Man, one giant leap...
We're steeped in our work every day, but will keep Peepin' when we can.
With Q2 winding down, work will being in earnest on our Red/C3 smart contract language. Pushing forward on all fronts, just like startup kids. Hoping we, @Bevan, @tay, and others doing good work in the blockchain space can inspire others and lead the way forward.
So I'll write some more, to see if the errant behavior rears its ugly head in a way the Peepeth crew can dupe and squash. I can use space to tell you that our Red Wallet uses its own USB drivers, written in Red/System, with the GUI in Red. All Red. Full Stack. One Language.
The in-page peep box still sometimes disables the Post button. Peep popup editor to the rescue. I do hesitate, edit, waffle, and hit the limit. Long windedness is my middle name. Except in code.
As developers, we watch details Normals don't, and question things. e.g., why does MetaMask hit the network when I'm not doing anything? Should I care? Do I need to vet their code? We are asking these questions for our own apps as well. Can you be trustless all the way down?
Even Peepeth can't make me more social. So busy. So many channels. Busy growing and guiding Team Red, and prepping for the official Red Wallet release.Hats off to @Bevan and co. Creating new apps on nascent technology is a huge effort.

Very cool Gregg, any particular insights that stood out?
4) You can do marketing without a lot of money. Be creative.
5) Done wrong, startups can be very bad for your health (mental and physical). Shocker. :^)
6) Investors care about the mgmt team. A lot.
7) We need to build real stuff with blockchains...see Peepeth.

Very cool Gregg, any particular insights that stood out?
1) People not in the trenches know 30K/Ft explanations of DLTs and such, but then hand waving and buzzwording starts.
2) Raising real VC is slow, and hard work.
3) Mentorship in learning how to work with investors can make a huge difference, hence accelerators.
I worked a conference on connecting capital and startups today. Some good notes, some knowns. At least one VC company is running blockchain accelerators already. The founder noted we're in a bubble, but they expect big things in the future and are investing to make it so.

There have been all kinds of "honest" scams popping up lately. Quite a few of them have "accidentally" lost user funds to "hacks" - I advise people against participating... Is regular crypto market volatility not enough, you thrill seekers? ;-)
I like the Thrill Seekers moniker very much. Might have to "borrow" that description..
Thrilled to see a working application using blockchain technology.
Will people choose their words more carefully here, knowing they'll last?
Kudos to the Peepeth team. Others will surely follow and learn from your example.
