Does anyone know if usernames are stored on the Blockchain/IPFS, or if it's part of the front-end? Would using a different front-end require a new handle or would it migrate over automatically?
These kinds of solutions, which are made possible by having a decentralised backend, will be the future of accountability for social media platforms.

@balresch You're mistaken about one thing; there are people who are able to mark posts as n-s-f-w or pol-itics. Forgive me for not replying directly to your post, but the infectious nature of that tag is a feature I wish to avoid entirely.
I don't see how this is possible once it's been added to the blockchain? You can look through https://peepeth.com/t/politics and see that all peeps (other than replies) have the self-tag. I'd need an example of a post that was marked pol without the tag or as a reply.

@bevan Oh. I see. I click the little link and then the peep is there. This is like the NSFW moderation on #Steemit. Sort of imperfect. My first suggestion is to make the hashtag searchable for folks who are actually seeking out these kinds of peeps.
https://peepeth.com/t/politics here you go!

Anyone want to hear my take on all the fuss from this morning in RE the politics and nsfw tags?
Love to. I'm struggling to come up with an analogy that gets my view across eloquently.

How about a dollar? Just want to make the wager worth more than the gas fees lol
Waiting for you to reveal - in 25 mins I win by default ;)

Anyone up for a game of rock-paper-scissor on the Ethereum blockchain? Reply here w/ yes and I'll get it going.
I'll do it, for like 50 cent :P

Wow, really!? This was “moderated” the instant I posted. #algorithym? For shame @Bevan. For shame... ✌️
Replying to a peep with #politics in it is the same as posting with #politics in it, at least in its current implementation.

I’ve heard Cent is pretty cool, but I’m happy with Peepeth for a while.
Can't find any info on Cent, mind linking me to something? 😊

The Enso thing is a good idea, but it feels a bit too much for most of peeps I just like
Agreed, I'd personally prefer a basic like button as well as the Enso. Sometimes I want to acknowledge a Peep that doesn't warrant a response or re-peep.

While this is funny, I hope to God memes will not be popular on Peepeth. They drive out intelligence like a homeless dude who smells of urine drives out customers at McDonalds. :(
You can't control the memes, man 🙄
Don't mind me - just immortalising my beautiful cat in the Blockchain forever 🐈

If you are an active traveler, try Flight Delay https://fdd.etherisc.com/ to secure your flight against delays and cancellations.
I'm not a very active traveler but looks intuitive, will keep that in mind when I next fly - thanks!
Peepeth is the first dApp I've used - does anyone know of any other well implemented dApps I should try?

Hi friends! Our team is preparing the agenda for #D1Conf2018 (d1conf.com). I'm wondering, is there anybody working on #blockchain-based #insurance products or just interested in #decentralizedinsurance applications? We need your ideas for possible topics for the conference.
@Asure Is this project relevant?

It is an idylic place (as there are so many, here in the German Alps)
Indeed, the Austrian Alps are probably my favorite place to travel. Never been to the German side though, maybe next time 🤙
I noticed all the videos of the game are in 3rd person now - can you still play in first person?

Who is paying for the gas, if the signing is free? (sorry if it is a stupid question. Still wrapping my head around some of the Ethereum blockchain concepts)
Maybe @Bevan can give us some more info?

Haha no worries, me too. It's possible that the 10% fee for tips gets used to fund the dApp and pay for the batched signed actions. Read https://medium.com/@abcoathup/evolution-of-decentralised-social-media-dfe567d23e54 for more info, some of what I've said may be wrong.

So when do we fork out the 10% fee?
Do you know if the fee is integrated as a part of the dApp, or is a feature of the front-end?

I just reached the free signing. I had to post 50 peeps as the requirement. The signup was $.07 and using faster to sign cost about 2 or 3 cents depending on the value of ethereum. So every 15 posts out of 50 would be at most 12 cents. 7+12=19. So $0.19 to get to free posting.
Not bad. I think I got free signing through verifying my twitter account: free!
Just about finished setting up a lightning node on a Raspberry Pi, following this guide by Stadicus; https://github.com/Stadicus/guides/blob/master/raspibolt/README.md
Would recommend to anyone wanting to try out the bitcoin lightning network.

It's not very clear to me, will normal users have to pay for peeps when peepeth is fully functional? Trying to convince some friends, but they very wary of the fact that they have to pay.
Currently it can be free (https://peepeth.com/help/signing), however i'm unclear about how this works exactly and if it will be free in the future.
Replying to @rdbilly (0xcddb6f18e8228598f4e241a0514e294b68f8b9f9)
I think it will become routine. The method of payment is fairly painless. Additionally I feel my peeps are being read. I would rarely get responses from Twitter. I get responses every day on Peepeth.
Since using Peepeth (and MetaMask) for the first time, I've been pleasantly surprised just how simple, integrated and behind the scenes it all is.
As a largely silent lurker on twitter - there is something about Peepeth that feels inclusive and positive, promoting discussion over argument and allowing people in my position to creep out of the woodwork. Will now be contributing to the kickstarter after trying it out!

So much of the cryptocurrency news space is filled with pure garbage.
An idea similar to the 'Tweet your peeps' feature, a Peepeth frontend that combines your Twitter and Peepeth feeds. I'm sure this isn't possible due to Twitters restricted API - but food for thought.

Gas market appeared to impact volume. My frustrations led to this: https://medium.com/@abcoathup/evolution-of-decentralised-social-media-dfe567d23e54?source=linkShare-3b0c0066557a-1534936056
That's a good write-up that addressed some of my initial concerns. Having the dApp pay seems like the most user friendly method - I wonder what methods of monetisation are possible to fund this.

You can always wait for low transaction fees for committing your actions to the blockchain. Might still slow down usage, though...
This is a good point, I noticed that you can commit up to 15 actions at once. With 7 cent transactions this is roughly ~0.5 cent per action. Not bad!
Paying to 'peep' is an interesting concept - and obviously required to write to the blockchain - but I wonder how willing people will be when the novelty wears off? Will #peepeth use lower in times of high transaction fees?
