New track up from this weekend for your enjoyment. 99 bpm chilled out synth beats.

Feels good to be active again.

Some interesting news regarding Cipher, Coinbase, and Toshi: https://twitter.com/CipherBrowser/status/984827995603939330?s=19 As a Toshi user, I'm excited. From an economic point of view, the Coinbase whale gets bigger. Would love to see more competitive Coinbase competitors.

Agree. Shame to see them get swallowed by Coinbase as competition is good but Cipher is def one up on Toshi.

They actually have an iPad app for a start. (irks me using mobile apps formatted only for the phone in 2018).

By upgrade you mean the Kiwi 3P? I have played one with it installed, it's incredible. I love that people are making these upgrades for these old synths that are super not friendly to use. I just upgraded my Korg Poly800 with the Hawk800 kit and it's insane what it can do now.

Kiwi 3p. That's the one. I will get round to doing the mod someday.

What I'd really like to see is a cpu and midi upgrade for the Oberheim Matrix 1000.

6 voice poly and this thing sounds amazing but is an absolute bugger to program.

I've felt a bit dirty posting up links to YouTube so how about I embrace decentralisation properly and use IPFS for my music videos instead?

Yeah! I love that JX3P with the PG200 down there, It's one of the most underrated synths out there in my opinion.

Certainly one of my favourites too. It can sound a little thin and reedy compared to modern synths but it's got a great tone which I really dig. Just a real shame you can't use the PG200 and midi control at the same time. (Unless you do the midi upgrade and use a midi controller)

Seems no one wants to bite and forever be recorded.

I'm just beginning to teach myself modular synthesis with https://vcvrack.com/. You got any favorite artists? I haven't found many... I like https://soundcloud.com/colinbenders alright.

P.s. VCV Rack looks pretty sweet.

Always love a new toy.

Downloading now. :)

I've got to say I do find some of the stuff by guys like Burg and KinK pretty inspirational.

I've tried to stop watching too much stuff now though as I've no room for more synths :D

Proof of soup. Love it.

this is pretty far up my aesthetic alley, if i do say so myself. ♬(◡‿◡)♬

Really glad you like it. Thank you for the tip.

Need to pull my finger out and get a few more bits finished.

Got a few peeps left before I need to save my first batch so I'm just going to pimp a bit more of my music.

Full disclosure: this new, exciting future isn't 100% free, which irks me. A post on Peepeth costs about one penny, can take a couple hours to propagate, and can't be deleted. I feel like blockchain isn't quite the right solution for a Twitter clone, but it's still better...

Like all internet services, if it's free you're the product.

I like the idea of having to think a little first before you post. Not perfect for everything but it has its place.

Great stuff! I thought that was a JP4 up top, I've never even heard of the EKOsynth P15. Cool! Center panning your kick would clean up the mix a bit. If it's a loop take the sample and split it with hard HP/LP filters then put the LPed sample in mono and trigger both at once.

Hey.
Thanks for the feed back. Appreciate that.

The kick was a sample on the MPC so would have been easy enough to pan over but I was a bit of a dodo recording this one and did it all on one channel on the mixer.

Oh well. Think it captured the vibe.

Do we have any other amateur knob twiddlers on here yet?

Waiting to be verified before I can start posting on d-tube but for now, here's one of my demonetised pieces of music on YouTube. :D

#howitworks Peepeth records IPFS hashes to the blockchain. The smart contract for the most part is stateless. The front end page has a link to @james article on stateless contracts and his peep reader. https://peepeth.com/front_end

Muchas gracias.

Good morning Peepeth.

Excited to be onboard the decentralised train.

How far down the stack do daaps like peepeth currently go? Is the Eth blockchain just being used as a persistent data store or is processing actually happening too?
