Times certainly change! Now wi-fi, charging stations & secure storage for laptops, etc, is considered standard. It's strange walking into the common room of a hostel & seeing 20 people all working away on their laptops. Although usually I've only gone in to do the same...😉
I last stayed in a hostel over a decade ago and all the people were consumed with their laptops.

Photographing a classic hostel moment in case I make it to 40 and get the classic midlife crisis where I want to prove to people I was young once
When I first lived in a hostel most people didn’t have laptops, digital cameras, or even phones. If you wanted to contact someone you got a physical address to their parents house or you could call a hostel and leave a message to get stuck up on a board. Most people didn’t have email addresses.

Wasn't it the city with the most cameras at one point? Not that it did much to reduce crime... The security guards in Oxford St shops have cctv that can follow onto the street and even see into buses

Anyone in Prague keen to meet up? I'm a software developer running a crypto startup - we've recently decided to pivot. I used to work at a (now infamous) crypto exchange, and I've been into Bitcoin since 2013.
I love walking around the castle in the late evening when hardly anyone is about. Take the tram to the top of the hill.

How would you feel if there are obvious cameras above your head while commuting? Bangkok’s new skytrains have this thing. I feel insecure and secure at the same time. 🤔

If I could get $100k on the condition I must spend the next 5 years living only out of a daypack I'd take that offer. Beard might be a way off. Need to wait out for more testosterone and maybe spend more time around bearded people, you become the average of the 5 humans you most associate with right?
I found a smaller daypack liberating. I had to focus on what I used every day.
Regards the beard, I dislike shaving, so it was an easy choice.
