My Peepeth identity is pretty valuable but some of my reputation would be transferable to another account.
Are there other dapp's where you've developed an identity or reputation around an Eth account?

I've looked at SportCrypt which seems ok but doesn't have that much volume.
Legal Disclaimer - asking for a friend who definitely does not live in a country where sports betting is illegal except for Las Vegas, Montana, and parts of Delaware.

Can anyone recommend a sports betting dapp that has a good UI and some volume of users? Sports betting, don't care about casino games.

I use #peepeth within the #toshi browser/wallet on #ios. It would be interesting to know through what channel other people access peepeth. Has this question already been asked, is there already a thread? Cheers. 🍻
#Toshi on mobile (#android) and #metamask on desktop

I like a bond but it then becomes a barrier to adoption.
My theory is that a bond (which absent spamming means no real cost to user) is less a barrier than pay-per-peep.

This is right. Especially on the difficulty of programming front. Let people earn money for identifying spammers and backing legit users.... but it would need some serious money behind it to prevent censorship, wouldn't it. Spam is a little subjective as it is, also.
Agree. My biggest concern about a PoS/Validator system (other than the dev effort) would be creeping centralization. Perhaps can be alleviated with the right incentives.

But what price would you set the bond at? A lot of people don't have an amount of $ they can set aside at one time. Also, by determining Peep volume based on the $ amount of your bond it would favor those with more means.
If you made the bond equal to the price of say 10 peeps to start, I don't see why it would favor those with means any more than the current pay per peep system. Perhaps "bond" is a bad word as it implies a large amount, but I was thinking of a min amount to ensure good behavior.

I love it too! I do! I agree with most of your thoughts. I sincerely appreciate all the time you have taken coming up with solutions. Spam bots are going to be an issue. They're hard to fix apparently... micro fees are a tool we have... all I'm saying. Keep on Peepin!
Solution to optimize cheap adoption and spam control is some kind of PoS system (like Casper) where everyone posts a bond in Eth, the amount you can peep is related to your bond amount, and some Validators can forfeit your bond if you spam. No spam, no fee. Obv harder to code.

Yeah, that's a known concern. @abcoathup just posted a great article with good info regarding the issue and possible solutions. https://medium.com/@abcoathup/evolution-of-decentralised-social-media-dfe567d23e54
Generally agree with @doodlemania, but @abcoathup solutions seem useful longer term. Also, a very low-fee specialized sidechain with message hashes periodically stored on Eth mainnet (like a level 2 chain) might work.
